Depending on the product and the desired packaging format, PLA films can be processed on various form-fill-seal machines. Vertical form-fill-seal machines are particularly well-suited for free-flowing products such as granola, pasta, nuts, tea, spices, powders, or pet food. In this process, the film is formed into a tube from the roll, filled, and then securely sealed. Horizontal form-fill-seal machines are used for individual items and products that are packaged lying flat.
