Organic films are an environmentally friendly alternative to OPP films and PE films. Our range includes compostable biofilms and bio-based films.
We distinguish between bio-based and biodegradable films in our range of biofilms. Our bio-based films are made entirely or in part from renewable raw materials. Raw materials such as corn, potatoes or sugar cane are often used for this purpose. However, not all bio-based films are biodegradable. This is due to the ethylene obtained from the natural raw materials. It is also known as ‘Green PE’ and is therefore disposed of in the same way as conventional PE.
After reliable use as product packaging, our biodegradable films are compostable and decompose into water, CO2 and biomass within six months under certain oxygen and temperature conditions. Our films comply with the requirements of EU standard DIN EN 13432.

Not all organic film is automatically compostable. Organic film simply means that it is made from renewable raw materials, such as corn starch, PLA or cellulose. Bio-film reduces dependence on fossil raw materials, has low CO₂ emissions during production and, depending on the material, is biodegradable or compostable. It often offers good barrier properties against oxygen and fat. We also offer alternatives such as PCR films and paper trays.
